Announcing the rethink(ip) blog
Last week, I was able to meet my rethink(ip) friends in person for the first time. How did it go, you ask? Let’s just say that we were up to at least 2:00 AM each night exchanging ideas and brainstorming (ok, it wasn’t all serious…we had a few beers and talked a little bit about things like our favorite guy movies).
Here’s the amazing thing. Our time together last week confirmed to each of us that the blogosphere brought together three attorneys from competing firms that are seeking a better way. The focus of our discussions never turned to the competition aspect of our relationship. Not once. It stayed focused, seemingly by itself, on finding a better way (and a little on Caddyshack, the Blues Brothers and Slap Shot as part of the whole guy movie thing).
So we made a list of things to do. Its quite long and will take some time to complete, but we’re going to do it. Its ambitious, I promise.
First up — the rethink(ip) blog. We launched the blog this morning at www.rethinkip.com. A full text feed is available at http://feeds.feedburner.com/rethinkip. The first post comes directly from our 3AM meeting last Friday evening, focusing on the question of what rethink(ip) means to each of us.
Nipper, Sorocco and I will routinely post to the rethink(ip) blog, but will not lose focus on our individual blogs. We recognize that each of our individual blogs has a unique feel to them, and want to preserve that. The rethink(ip) blog will focus on the actual rethinking of intellectual property services. What’s that, you ask? Well, start reading the blog….
