Grand Haven Michigan — first citywide wireless deployment

Link: Grand Haven Michigan has rolled out a citywide wireless access plan. That’s city-wide wireless access. As in everywhere in the city. The coverage even extends into Lake Michigan for boaters. The city charges a subscription fee, and has short-term plans aimed at vacationers.

I hope this is the beginning of a trend. Not only would I purchase such a service plan in my hometown, but I would likely buy a plan from each of the surrounding communities. I would surely grab one from my annual vacation spots as well.

Question for Grand Haven politicians: Why isn’t this service prominently featured on the town’s web site?
