Thinking about China? Here’s an interesting tidbit

More and more companies are thinking about China in one way or another. Knock-off products, market opportunities, etc. But, did you ever seriously think about Chinese patents as a card you should hold in your IP portfolio? Seems like companies think about Chinese patents sometimes, but not too seriously.

This article (really a snippet) cites a rise in Chinese patent applications, and claims that “…China’s patent system is playing an increasingly important role in promoting technical innovation.”

I wonder if China will respect its own patents? Or if it will begin to protect the “technical innovation” that, apparently, it is promoting so well….
