US Trade Representative releases Special 301 Report for 2004
Link: On Monday, the US Trade Representative released its Special 301 report for 2004. The report, released annually, examines the adequacy of intellectual property rights protection by US trading partner countries around the world. The report is perhaps known mostly for its “watch list“.
In the current report, the following countries are on the “watch list”:
Argentina
Bahamas
Brazil
Egypt
EU
India
Indonesia
Korea
Kuwait
Lebanon
Pakistan
Philippines
Russia
Taiwan
Turkey
Ukraine remains alone in the “Priority Foreign Country” category, in which sanctions are actually in place. The report focuses on Ukraines lack of protections relating to optical media.
